The purpose of this project was to explore the relationship between figure and ground. We defined figure as the form or positive space and ground as the background or negative space. The goal was to create a pattern so that the viewer could interpret the figure and ground interchangeably. We used portions of tools (I used wire clipper/strippers) to make the base unit of our pattern. Then we repeated the unit in various methods to create 3 patterns which you can find below. We also added color to help alternate figure/ground
